Hunting Dinosaurs
Hunting Dinosaurs transports students back in time to the land of the dinosaurs. Students will take a complete journey through the age of the dinosaurs by exploring topics such as the era of the dinosaurs, drifting continents, different dinosaur species, their biology, the end of an era, and how fossils are found and identified.

Course Description
Get ready to unearth one of our planet’s greatest mysteries, the dinosaurs! Students will gain insightful and applicable information about the history and discoveries made about dinosaurs. The textbooks used within this course are written by leaders in the field of paleontology, including a text written by Dr. Steve Brusatte, who is one of the foremost experts of the field and a New York Times Bestseller author. Students will take a complete journey through the age of the dinosaurs by exploring topics such as the era of the dinosaurs, drifting continents, different dinosaur species and their biology, the end of an era, and how fossils are found and identified. Through relevant and up-to-date material, this course gives the student an understanding and appreciation of the 165 million years that dinosaurs ruled the Earth.
Goals
- Students will become familiar with the most well-known paleontologists and their work.
- Students will learn about the physical characteristics of dinosaurs.
- Students will learn theories of dinosaur existence and extinction.
- Students will become familiar with the history of paleontological research.

Evidence of Learning Outcomes
Upon completing Hunting Dinosaurs, the student will have demonstrated knowledge of the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods. Students will also gain an understanding of discovery timelines, paleontology, recent dinosaur discoveries, and a first-person account from a world-renowned paleontologist.
How to Register
Registration is simple and can be done online or over the phone. Courses are offered ongoing during three semesters, and enrollees may begin at any time. Students may choose to enroll in up to a maximum of 15-semester credits at any time during a semester.
