AI: Transforming the K-12 Classroom-Hybrid

Course #: EDUC_719I_HYBRID

Semester Credits: 3
Cost: $420.00

We’re excited to announce a new hybrid course format for Professional Development Courses at the University of La Verne. This course model was created to meet the evolving requirements the school districts are setting. In addition to our regular content, these courses will also include:

  • Direct Interaction with your professor
  • Discussion boards that provide a cohort-based structure for peer collaboration
  • Additional assignments for deeper learning
  • Live Zoom meetings to enhance engagement

This course will provide students with the basic knowledge needed to effectively integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into their everyday teaching and learning activities. Students will utilize different AI tools to develop lesson plans, communicate with parents, develop assessment instruments, minimize grading time, and enhance student engagement. In addition, students will be able to differentiate between different levels of AI, their development, limitations and ethical considerations. This course is available only in the online format and students are expected to attend via Zoom a session with the faculty. If you are unable to join the live Zoom meeting, you will be required to view the recording as there is a corresponding assignment to the zoom session.

*Please note: The first Zoom session for this course will be August 6th, 2025 at 6:00pm PST. Courses that are registered for prior to this date will have to wait until after the zoom session to complete and submit their course.

You may complete the assignments for this course ONLINE.
