This course explores the Constitution by referencing the first of the founding documents, the Declaration of Independence. The study begins with historical and theoretical explorations of devising a government that would equally endow all people with "certain unalienable rights." The difference between "rights" and "interests" are discussed in depth, as are other philosophical issues that contribute to understanding the Federal Constitution.
