HELP WITH ONLINE COURSES

  1. I clicked SUBMIT and lost all of my work!

This may mean that you are using the BACK button before saving your work. Please do not use the BACK button when completing these courses. This may also mean that you were inactive for more than 30 minutes. Please note that your session will time out after a period of 30 minutes. You may avoid this problem by clicking SUBMIT often (this saves your work). If you plan to leave your computer, please save your work and log off before you do so, or you may lose your answers!

  2. I can't upload my documents/photographs.

There is a 2 MB file size limit on all uploads. Please resize your document and/or photographs and resubmit them. If you do not know how to resize an image, instructions for using Microsoft Paint are available by clicking HERE. (if you are a Windows user, Paint is available under the Accessories menu).

  3. I am getting error message 139. What does this mean?

Error message 139 means that you have exceeded the maximum amount of information you may post for that page. Please shorten your answers.

GENERAL QUESTIONS ABOUT PDC

You may register via telephone (1-800-793-6533) or on line (http://pdc.laverne.edu) using a valid credit card, or you may download a registration form from the web site and send payment via the mail.  You may register for up to 15 semester credits at any time during a semester.  You do not need to complete those courses prior to registering for additional courses during the following semesters.

Fall Semester:  September 1 through January 31
Spring Semester: February 1 through May 31
Summer Semester: June 1 through August 31

  2. What is the cost of a course and does the cost include all the materials?

The course cost is $105 per semester credit.  The cost includes all the books and other materials (videos and audio aids if required), along with online workbooks and assessments.  Art courses requiring drawings or projects will require additional art materials not included with the course.  Technology courses require access the appropriate software (i.e., Microsoft Office 2007) to complete assessments.

  4. Why do some courses have the option of completing assessments online and what does that mean?

Some of our courses are now available to complete online. The course assessments are the same as those you would receive in hard copy format, with the exception that you view and complete them online. We believe this to be a green alternative to completing coursework. You will still receive any applicable texts, DVDs or other course materials via U.S. Priority Mail.

All courses are designed to require about 15 hours per semester credit for completion.
